NCDMB Harps On Promoting Academic Excellence

The Nigeria Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB),annual National Undergraduate Essay competition 2023, Has finally emerge with a winner.
The excercise is targeted towards the Nigeria Youths,in all tertiary institution to compete in the oil and gas sector, the theme for this year is “Nigeria Content And The Lessons From COVID-19 Pandemic.
Capital intensive skilled in oil and gas,was to get the best out of the under graduate, the event was held at lady Daima memorial Event Center,Osiri road Ekeki yenagoa Bayelsa State.
Speaking was Barrister Dan kikile representing, Engineer Simbi Wabota the executive secretary, NCDMB Act is to increase indigenous participation in the oil and gas industry by building local capacities and competencies,to boost the growth of the Nigeria’s economy and industrialization.
According to him the Essay competition was conceptualized to develop,idea and initiate a strategic approach  that will further deepen the NCDMB mandate in focusing on the Youths .
He further said the excercise is a conscious attempt,aimed to promote the writing skills, analytical and research conduct potential of young Nigeria Undergraduate in public and private universities, polytechnics in the country.
The consultant Mr Eyinimi Omorozi ,CEO of Mahogany 21st century Concept limited, the program is mainly for young undergraduate in the tertiary institution.
Furthermore, the competition is designed to promote academic excellence for Youths who have interest in writing skills, and research in Nigeria tertiary institution and the Nigeria Content policy.
Among the top ten finalist, the first prize award winner was Lazarus Favour Iruoma,18 years old from Umudike Umuobom in Ideato South of local government of Imo state,a 200 level student,Nnamdi Azikiwe University faculty of law goes home with one million naira and laptop.
While second position was Lucy Agbalu,17 years old from Beten village in Bekwarra local government of cross river state,a 100 level student of microbiology of the university of Calabar goes home with Seven hundred thousand naria.
Akinduyite Olorunfemi Samuel from Ondo state,18 years old, took third position,200 level in Elizade University faculty of law, goes home with five hundred thousand naria.
While others include Uwasinachi Peculiar, fourth position,Olugbodi Emmanuel, fifth position,Oladeji Joshua Oluwaferanmi and Adewunmi Samson Goke  sixth position, Divine Chinedu Umeizu seventh position,Bassey  Marvellous eighth position,Atuegwu wisdom Tochukwu nine position.
