The traditional ruler of Biseni Kingdom in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa, HRH King Akile Nwaku, has appealed to the Gov. Douye Diri of Bayelsa, to formally recognize him and present him with a staff of office.
Akile, who is back to his domain after self exile following crisis and attempts on his life, said his recognition will restore lasting peace to the troubled oil rich community.
He stated this during chat with newsmen in his palace in Biseni, on Tuesday, expressed the confidence that Bayelsa, government will do the right thing by giving him the due recognition as all legal matters relating to the throne have been settled.
According to him, great Peace, joy and happiness have returned to the oil rich Biseni kingdom as i king Akile Nwaku, Omide X, Pre of Biseni kingdom finally returned and seated on great and dynamic Ancestorial throne of the great historical Royal throne of Biseni kingdom.
“After the government conciliation of the purported election and a high Court in Bayelsa state dismissed the case filed by Hon Samuel David Obuma in suit No:YHC/222/2022. Before The Hon, Justice Amadise Michael Ekadi (Judge) on Thursday March 28, 2024.
According to him, we are pleading with the governor Douye Diri to announce the throne and that will bring the peace to this kingdom.
“I and my subject’s are very much ready to work with the state government because we know that he has good plans to develop the state.
“Except there is peace the governor cannot do any meaningful development in the state.
“Since I came back to my kingdom after the court judgement, the community has been peaceful, before now there was crisis but since my return the entire community has been peaceful.
“I am pleading with the state government to heed the call of reason, our elder statesman has written to the state government in the past.
“The state traditional rulers council has equally in investigated this matter and discovered that the seat of power in Biseni is Pre and is controlled by one family.
“I have written to the state government via the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and so we are waiting on the governor and we promise him that lasting peace will be restored.
“The deviation from the customs of the people has caused a breached of the peace.
“The traditional ruler of Biseni Kingdom is not a political stool, it is a traditional stool, every ethnic group has their customs and traditions from the beginning and once there is deviation there is bound to be crisis,” he said.
