HON RICHMAN CONGRATULATES SENATOR HENRY SERIAKE DICKSON ON CONFERMENT OF AWARD OF EXCELLENCE.

The Chairman of Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, Hon. Samuel Ebipade Richman, has congratulated Senator Henry Seriake Dickson on the conferment of an Award of Excellence on him.

The Award was presented to Senator Dickson by The Global Initiative For Climate And Environmental Sustenance – a Coalition of Environmental Based Civil Society Organizations in Nigeria and a Non Governmental Organisation with core values on Environment, Ecology and Climate Change.

Speaking during the Award Ceremony, Hon. Richman described the Award as well deserved. He noted that, Senator Dickson with his wealth of experience and contributions towards the protection of the environment since his days as an Executive of the Ijaw National Congress (INC), as a Governor and as a Senator, his stance on the protection of the environment has been unparalleled.

“I heartily congratulate my mentor and Father, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson on his conferment of “An Award of Excellence in Environmental Leadership 2023.”

“This award is well deserved. As you know, right from when he was in the Executive of the Ijaw National Congress (INC) the Umbrella body of all Ijaws, when he was in the House of Representatives and as Governor of Bayelsa State for eight (8) years, his stance in the protection of the environment has been unparalleled. He has at every point in time championed the protection of the Environment as he believes that the environment is what is and will sustain life.”

“As the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ecology and Climate Change, and with this award, I believe Senator Dickson will do more for the protection of our environment that actually needs protection from all”.

The Award Ceremony had in attendance;
Hon. (Amb) Michael Magbisa – Vice Chairman, PDP Bayelsa West, Hon. Samuel Ebipade Richman – Chairman, Sagbama Local Government Area, Hon. Andrew Iviemu – Delta State Coordinator PDP Youth Alliance and Hon. Edwnru Darlington Okoriye.

Amongst top Civil Society Organizations members present are, Dr. Nwambu Gabriel – D.G. Centre for Credible Leadership and Citizens Awareness, Mrs. Ene Obi of Action Aid Nigeria, Ogueri Mbah of Initiative for Climate and Environmental Sustenance (GICES), Hugo Okafor of Democratic Watchdog of Nigeria and Nguru of Africa Initiative.

The event was held yesterday at the National Assembly PRESSCORP Center, Abuja, Nigeria.
