Support in Top Gear For HPV Vaccine

Bayelsa state social mobilization committee ,(SMC) meeting , have strategies the way forward ,on social mobilization, and work plan towards the HPV vaccine.

The state health executive, UNICEF, NGO’s and religious leaders in a collaborative effort, to sensitizated their church members, and the general public on the Human Papilloma virus,HPV vaccine that will commence very soon.

Dr Christopher explained that their should be a communication training,for those that will go for the sensitization, the benefits and reasons why the vaccine should be taken.

He added that HPV vaccine protect against certain types of Cancers, including cervical cancer cause by human Papilloma virus is an infectious disease that can harm the cervix.

“Aside from receiving the the HPV vaccine,other preventive measures include early detection and regular screening with early treatment.

Stressing that any negative reaction,or rumor gotten from a particular community should be put in record,to strategically manage the information and sensitization there.

He noted that the health officials would be visiting schools, churches, mosques and other public places including house to house to give the vaccine to children,9 – 14 years.

The CEO, Eunice Nnachi Women Advocacy foundation ,(ENWAF) Lady Eunice Nnachi states the importance of the vaccine cannot be overemphasized.

She urged parents, caregivers and other relevant stakeholders to give the vaccinators access to their Children.
