Former Ekeremor Council Boss,Hon Selekebina Saboh Celebrates Mother @ 79

It was celebration galore as friends, families and well wishers over the weekend throng the resident of former Ekeremor Local Government Council Chairman, Hon Selekebina Saboh to celebrate with his mother Mrs Stranger Saboh who turns 79years old.

The birthday wish attracted array of dignitaries across the state and even witnessed the cutting of the birthday cake, cultural display from verious dancing groups and music which was supplied by Perema extension led by Yoyagha, Barrister Smooth and Jah Wonder.

Dignitaries present at the elaborate birthday celebration includes the Secretary to the Bayelsa State Government, Dr Nimbofa Ayawei, The Chief Whip of the Delta State House of Assembly, Representing Burutu Constituency 1,Hon Ebitonmo Alakpala, former acting governor of Bayelsa State, Hon Peremobowei Ebebi, The Member Representing Ugheli North Constituency 2, Hon Spencer Ohwofa in the Delta State House of Assembly, former Ekeremor Local Government chairman, Dr Perekeme Bertola among others.

While speaking to newsmen, mama son, Hon Selekebina Saboh, who demonstrated his deep love and appreciation to his mother, described her sterling qualities as second to none, stating that his mother as a business woman trained him to become a successful man, hence he doesn’t joke with her.

While narrating his ordeal when he ran into debt and there’s little or nothing to survive with, according to the fomer coucll boss it was his mother that became his rallying point of survival after which he stabilized.

Hon Saboh, who’s from Egbemo-Angalabiri town in Ekeremor Local Government Area, said in the history of the town he was the first to have built a house for his parents, owing to the fact that his mother is a good woman.

He noted that “By his grace I had opportunity in 1998, I called my mother mummy I have a little money, I want to build a house for you, she conditioned me that I should build for my father first, and that if I had other money before I will build her own, am sorry to say is not every woman in today’s life that will alter such a word, and that gave me the zeal and it’s a testimony that in the history of Egbemo-Angalabiri am the first to build a house for my both parents.

“Today she has live up to 79years, I told her you are worth celebrating, the first person that’s praying for me every morning is my mother, she will call me my son how are you feeling, she will say my son, as the sun is rising from the East, may you succeed in your life, I pray may you give me a befitting burial.

“Today she has lived up to 79 years, I told her come let me celebrate you, not when you’re dead, whatever celebration to be done then you will not see, she said okay.” She obliged.

Saboh, further advised every young one to have the hope of God by so doing they will achieve whatever fit they want to achieve in life. ” don’t look at the pocket of your neighbors, ask my people, farming work I was there, Timber work I was there, fishing work I was there, it was not easy, whatever you see here is out of suffering .

The philanthropist, promised to take care of the elderly when they are alive and not when they are no more .

Also speaking was the Chief Whip of the Delta State House of Assembly, and the Member Representing Burutu constuency 1, Hon Ebitonmo Alakpala, wished the celebrant that God grant her are heart desires and many more years.

He further prayed for the celebrant to live more than 100 years which his parents could not live up to.

On his part an Ex-agitator who has been in the struggle from 1996 to date and a relative to the celebrant, the Sowei Biwei 1, of Egbemo Clan, High Chief Timothy Jeremiah, showered encomium on the celebrant while encouraging younger ones to emulate older persons in the society so as to live a worthy life.

A grand son to the celebrant, Mr Fidelis Perekeme, reiterated the examplary figure of mama to the younger ones due to how she has lived her life and prayed for God’s guidance to as many that have come to celebrate with them.
